About Mickel

Besides my activities in information management I also enjoy being a Dutch language coach. I teach foreigners how to speak Dutch. It was fun to guide Leann through Dutch and now I try to let others benefit from my experience. More information about this is available at http://www.e-controller.eu/NederlandsPraten/.
In my spare time I also enjoy photography. I have worked with a professional photographer. I was pleased to hear from him that my pictures are of professional quality. Please click the link 'photos' at the top of the page, to find a section of pictures. Most pictures have been taken by me. As of July 2009 I own a new camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ28. It allows me to give me higher quality pictures. I also enjoy interactive media. Last but not least I enjoy American baseball and American football.
Helping people is part of my voluntary work at a local community center. It gives me the opportunity to use my knowledge and experience for people in our society that have been less lucky.
My rule of life is: "The only obligation YOU have in life, is the obligation for YOU to be happy. If YOU are not happy, YOU cannot make someone else happy."

About Leann
I am 28 years old and finally married to Mickel. :P So I'm finally updating my profile. I am getting well adjusted to my life here in The Netherlands. I'm probably fluent or near fluent in Dutch. And now I need to decide what career I'll choose. I'm thinking of being an English teacher or a librarian.
I enjoy traveling, reading, watching movies, going out to eat and more. I do a bit of volunteer work organizing women's parties. It's pretty fun and I get free drinks. :) Other than that, I enjoy being with my hubby Mickel. He's cute and lovable most of the time anyway haha.

Why this website?
Leann is originally from America, but she has moved to The Netherlands, Europe soon after she married Mickel. We believe that this website will help to keep our (international) family and friends updated on our life.
